Everyone Should Have the ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter & Receiver! Here’s Why!

ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter & Receiver review - Aux connection
This inexpensive gadget from ARCHEER allows you to transmit or receive via Bluetooth and connect to almost any type of device. The ARCHEER Bluetooth transmitter and receiver is a critical gadget that allows connectivity between devices where normally there isn't any.

Everyone should have one of these devices. And I don’t just say this because I have one. But it is one of those devices that is like a Swiss Army Knife. We all love Bluetooth, right? Well, not every device has Bluetooth built in – for transmitting or receiving. This gadget from ARCHEER is a Bluetooth transmitter AND receiver in a really small form factor (and a very nice price). How do I explain what it does? Well, first, I will start with some examples – see if any of these match any of your use cases. (*Disclosure below.)

ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter & Receiver review - optical links

Example #1: You have a TV. And you want to watch it at night but you don’t want to wake up the kids/baby/spouse/significant other. And the TV doesn’t have Bluetooth. So, you can either try to listen at really low levels but that’s not fun. You could get a pair of headphones with a really long cord, but who wants to be literally tied up with cords. Or you could hook up the ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver and set it to transmit mode and then just connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones. Super easy!

Example #2: How about this. You have a great new playlist on your smartphone that you want to share with your friend. But at a friend’s house, they only have an old A/V system which doesn’t support Bluetooth. You could try to find an adapter and/or connect your smartphone with an open connection on the A/V system, but chances are, you don’t have the right connector or cable (trust me, I used to carry around bags of different adapters and cables just for this reason). If you had the ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver, you could easily connect it to the A/V receiver using either an optical link (TOSLINK), 3.5 mm AUX, or RCA cable (you know the red and white one?). Just connect the ARCHEER and set it to receive mode and then broadcast via Bluetooth from your smartphone to the A/V system.

So those are two pretty common use cases. Example #3: But here’s another one. You are heading to the beach. You obviously have your smartphone with all of your music and someone else is bringing a pair of battery-powered speakers. But when the two of you meet, you realize that your smartphone uses a special cable, not a 3.5mm cable (thanks, Apple), to connect to speakers and all that your friend brought was a 3.5mm cable. Luckily you have the ARCHEER transmitter & receiver. But wait! You are on the beach and there is no way to plug in the ARCHEER. Not too worry! Built into the ARCHEER is a 450 mAh battery which provides up to 19 hours of playback. No wall plug needed. (And, by the way, the ARCHEER only takes about 2 hours to fully charge.)

Ok, one last use case. Example #4: Let’s say you have a TV that actually DOES support Bluetooth. You use your Bluetooth headphones with it all of the time. But your significant other comes over and wants to watch that loud action movie with you. And, of course, it’s late at night and you don’t want to disturb those others who may be sleeping. Unfortunately, your TV only supports pairing with one pair of headphones. That’s not very fun! Once again, it’s this ARCHEER gadget to the rescue. Just connect it to your TV in transmit mode, and you can pair TWO headsets with it.

ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter & Receiver review - connection types

I hope you now see how useful this device by ARCHEER is. And I have actually put it to the test with my own scenario. I had a TV that didn’t have good quality sound so I wanted to pair a set of Bluetooth speakers with it. I connected the 3.5mm included cable to the headphone jack on my TV, set the ARCHEER in transmit mode. Then I turned on my Bluetooth speakers and put them in pairing mode. I placed those speakers close to the ARCHEER and pressed the pairing button on their as well, and almost as if by magic, they connected. This is kind of an important thing to point out because normally when you pair a Bluetooth speaker with your phone, you have to actually select the Bluetooth device to connect with (and sometimes even enter a code). Obviously, there is no screen on the Bluetooth speakers nor on the ARCHEER itself, but they automatically were able to pair! Oh, and to provide power to the ARCHEER? I just used the USB cable and plugged it into the back of the TV into a USB port. When the TV is on, the ARCHEER is powered and charges.

Curious about all of the switches and buttons? Here’s a breakdown of them:

More Details about the ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter & Receiver

The ARCHEER is actually pretty small and light. It measures 2.375” x 2.375” x 0.625” and weighs practically nothing at all. Easy to just throw into a bag and forget about. Of course, you probably would want to bring some cables with you. The does ARCHEER come with:

  • (1) 3.5mm Audio Cable
  • (1) Optical Digital Cable
  • (1) 3.5mm Female to 2 RCA Male Cable
  • (1) USB Charging Cable

I normally don’t read manuals because I want to really see how easy a gadget is. In this case, I actually did read through the manual so that I could be sure I was doing everything properly and not missing out on any features. Like, for example, how to power the ARCHEER on. You have to press down on the BIG button (with the logo) on the top. You press and hold that for a few second until it turns on (you will see a green light start flashing).

The next step is to figure out how you want to use the ARCHEER – as a Bluetooth transmitter or receiver. Once you decide, be sure you use the switch on the side and set it to either TX (transmit) or RX (receive).

Then, you should decide how you want or need to connect it. For the best audio quality, I recommend using the TOSLINK (optical or SPDIF) connection. But if your device doesn’t handle that, you can use either the 3.5mm audio cable or the RCA connector (which also plugs into the 3.5mm connection).

ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter & Receiver review - front sync button

There is a sync button on the front. It does take a little bit of practice to pair with Bluetooth devices. But if all else fails, you can fully reset the Bluetooth stored settings by powering off the ARCHEER and then powering it on while holding the sync button.

As a courtesy, I have included pictures of the instructions. While setup and connections are fairly clear, I know that I will personally lose the instruction booklet so as a public service, I’m including those pictures here (for me and others).

Here’s the front side:

And here’s the back side:

The nice thing is, once you set things up in a scenario you like, you pretty much don’t have to worry about it again. Pairing will automatically reconnect and, as I said, it’s easy enough to reset things in case you have a different scenario.

Example #5: Oh, and I have one more real-world use case to provide. My daughter has an older Prius, one that only has Bluetooth for phone calls and that’s it. Right now, with her iPhone, she has an old enough iPhone model so that she can use an Aux cable (in the headset) to connect her music. But if she wants to, she can now use the ARCHEER for her Bluetooth streaming. I can connect the ARCHEER to the Aux cable and power it with a USB cord into a charge port adapter and then hide it all away. She still has to use Aux on her radio, but she doesn’t have to plug in any cables.

So how much does this Bluetooth transmitter/receiver set you back? Hardly anything actually. The ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver is currently listed on Amazon for $32.99. You may want to pick up a couple just because of how useful they are!

Summary

Not being able to connect a device via Bluetooth is now a thing of the past thanks to the ARCHEER Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver. This handy gadget allows you to have Bluetooth connections just about anywhere…even without a power source! While understanding the buttons to press and the switches to flip can be a bit daunting at first, as long as you understand the connection type and read through the manual, this ARCHEER Bluetooth transmitter and receiver is a super useful gadget to have around the home. Being able to connect older devices that may not have Bluetooth or share a Bluetooth connection with someone while watching a movie is now super easy to do. And the price point is extremely reasonable. I only put a lower rating at the “Family-friendly” rating because it may be a bit complicated to set up initially. It’s helpful to have the manual handy. But once set up, it’s extremely useful!
