YouTube Premium just got a lot more valuable, and if you were on the fence about Peacock for the NFL alone, this deal probably makes that decision for you. “Cutting the cable” has truly changed into “building the bundle.” I’m not a YouTube Premium subscriber, but this new offer is quite compelling. I’m currently in the Hulu/Disney/ESPN camp. These are two powerhouses now going head to head.
I was glad to drop cable TV and satellite TV years ago. It was getting pricey, and the options were pretty limited. So, I jumped on the streaming subscription train, and I’m guessing I’m probably paying more for my streaming services than I did for my cable or satellite. It would be pretty darn close, honestly.
Will we start to see more consolidation and bundling in the future? I think so. Will competition for bundles drive prices down? Maybe (I hope so). Regardless, I’m expecting more to come. Keep binge watching!
