I’m going to keep this short and sweet since I have already written a bit about Ultrabooks and I’m going to be talking about them more in the coming weeks. So let’s cut to the chase…Jeff Sass (who is a partner in crime on the Cast of Dads podcast as well as a fellow Intel Advisor) and I have been testing out a new line of Windows laptop, specifically, Ultrabooks.

Well, the time has come to announce a QUICK but GREAT giveaway, courtesy of Intel, who are the thought leaders behind the Ultrabook concept. There is now a page that lists out the Official Rules which I encourage you to read. Here are the critical details on the giveaway though:
- Begins December 21, 2011 at 12:00:01 a.m. U.S. Pacific Time (“PST”)
- Ends December 23, 2011 at 11:59:59 p.m U.S. Pacific Time (“PST”)
- U.S. Residents Only
- 18 years and older
- Must have a non-private Twitter account
- You must send a Tweet with the hashtag (#) – “#UltrabookDads”

Show me a family who hasn’t played Monopoly before and I will let you see the dinosaur I keep in my back yard. I would hazard to guess that pretty much any family has, at one point of time or another, played Monopoly. It’s a rite of passage and part of growing up. You have to go through the pains and triumphs of “real life” as you roll your way around the game board. And a monopoly game can last weeks or months. In fact, the longest Monopoly game on record lasted 70 straight days.
Well, times are a changin’ and we are now moving into the modern era. And those young whippersnappers at Hasbro have decided to modernize Monopoly as well. I was pretty much convinced that the game would be spoiled somehow since the banker played such a pivotal role in managing and organizing the game. So, when I got my hands on Monopoly with Electronic banking, I was a bit skeptical of how it was modernized, but after playing it for a while (and being the banker), I was pleasantly surprised.

For starters, you no longer collect $200 when you pass go, you collect $2M (yes, that’s million). Payments go down to $1000 increments. Also, the pieces themselves have been updated. And there is no paper money. It has been replaced by a gadget that resembles a calculator.
Players are given credit cards of sorts and that is all of the “currency” that you need. All of the banking transactions, fees and payouts, are done electronically.

It’s alive! Yes, that’s right, after a bit of a hiatus, the Cast of Dads are back with another action-packed…er…humor packed…uh…informative podcast appropriately titled “Weiner, Junk & Tools“. Being a dad is a busy enough “project” in itself, but then coupling our other “jobs” into the mix and finding time to get the 5 dads together is something that warrants a medal or something. But honestly, we love doing this podcast, and we just had to do one before Father’s Day, especially since we have a really cool Giveaway going on over the next few days!

Yes, the giveaway, courtesy of Intel, is real and it’s happening now!
Here’s what you need to do. Head over to this episode’s post on Cast of Dads and enter. We are giving away a brand new Dell Inspiron Duo (I played with one at CES, it’s pretty cool) to one lucky weiner…I mean winner. Just leave a comment on that page that answers the following question: “The most rewarding thing about being a father is…” You have until the end of the day on June 19th, 2011 to enter! Best of luck and we can’t wait to see some of your comments!
Oh, and since this is a Father’s Day episode, don’t forget to check out my “HighTechDad’s 2011 Father’s Day Gift Guide – Products I Have Reviewed & Like” to find that special gift for your Dad!

The Dads are definitely getting back into the swing of things, finally able to get together to talk about the latest and greatest things happening to us and our families. Obviously, our opinions and advice fly like t-balls in the Spring but you have to listen to the Cast of Dads podcast #41 “Summer is Almost Upon Us” for all of our sagely advice. I just got back from a road trip down to LA (which I will write a bit more about the actual transportation later) where the highlight was not only visiting Disneyland, but also getting to visit the set of Wizards of Waverly Place (my youngest daughter was literally floating on air after meeting Selena Gomez – see picture below). Anyway, be sure to listen to the podcast for all of the details, especially how Sony and Ford are getting 4/5ths of the Cast of Dads together in NYC & Boston for an exciting road trip.
Also, we haven’t forgotten about the launch of our first ever Cast of Dads giveaway, sponsored by Intel. Be sure to listen to this and upcoming podcasts to learn how you could win a Dell Inspiron Duo! We are still trying to work out the details.

Be sure to listen in. If you would like to sponsor an individual episode or a series of episodes, please do let us know.
