Google’s latest Google Home update added 15-minute conversational memory to Gemini for Home, which means your smart speakers and displays now remember what you were just asking about. You can say “turn on the kitchen lights,” wait 15 minutes, then say “dim them to 50%” without restarting the context. The same update added pre-made automation routines for common scenarios like morning schedules, energy savings, and home security, and improved the way the app guides users through saving automations correctly.

Apple Signals September 9 for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra Event
Apple quietly updated its Keynote event page this week, and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman now points to Wednesday, September 9, as the most likely date for the iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone Ultra reveal. With Labor Day falling on September 7 this year, Apple is expected to give media and staff the extra day to travel. Pre-orders are pegged for September 10, with the first units likely shipping around September 19.

iPhone 18 Pro Price Could Start at $1,399, Second Report Confirms
A second analyst report now predicts the iPhone 18 Pro will start at $1,399, up $300 from the iPhone 17 Pro’s $1,099 base price. GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu attributes the hike to elevated A20 Pro chip costs, significantly higher RAM prices, and an upgraded camera system. The iPhone 18 Pro Max would start at $1,499.
