Google just added a selfie video as a way back into your account when you forget your password, which is either very convenient or slightly unnerving depending on how you feel about your face being the key to your Google life. Face ID on my iPhone is great and super helpful. Fingerprint authentication (e.g., Touch ID) for my Mac and iPad are equally helpful. And, in testing some Windows devices, I actually am sort of a fan of Windows Hello for facial recognition.
Biometric authentication is definitely more secure than typing in the same password over and over. Even using a password manager or passkey is great (assuming they are also using 2-factor or biometric authentication). This does make sense, and we will have to see how it is rolled out and how consumers are trained on its effectiveness and importance.
