OpenAI just removed the most annoying thing about the free tier, and if you have ever hit that message wall mid-conversation and waited out a timer to keep going, that particular frustration is now officially behind you. Supposedly.
But the important thing to remember is that nothing is ever “free.” Yes, the service is now “unlimited” for text conversations, which is actually quite nice to have. You can’t do other things that are more powerful, but that is why the other tiers exist.
And, advertising within chats is a thing. If you haven’t experienced it yet, you will. And that is where things might get a bit creepy, as AI chat advertising may be looking at your chats to inject relevant ads based on that context. I haven’t seen too much about AI ads within chat, but it is something to watch for and be prepared for.
