Apple’s lawsuit against OpenAI now has forensic MacBook evidence showing a downloaded circuit schematic, active use of that file at OpenAI, and a text message to destroy evidence; OpenAI’s defense is that Apple’s own security policies created the conditions that made this possible. Personally, I’m waiting for the binge-watchable series to come out on this (I’m sure it’s in the works).
There are shots being fired from all sides. Forensic details are emerging. It is also becoming a he-said, she-said type of scenario. Just a couple of days after this article in 9to5Mac came out talking about what Apple found, another article presented OpenAI’s take on what Apple announced.
This is all going to get a lot uglier and more complicated as more of the tapestry is unwound.
