Anker collapsed Eufy, Soundcore, and all its other brands into one name today, then unveiled MindBase at IFA, a local AI home hub that keeps your security footage on-device and doubles as a NAS; if it ships at a price that makes sense, this is the smart home hub that privacy-first households have been waiting for.
Consolidation makes a lot of sense to me. I have used and own some of the other brands’ products (Eufy and SoundCore specifically) and have found them to be solid performers. And once I learned they were part of the Anker family, that was further validation. In fact, the SoundCore Space 2 ANC headphones are extremely popular in my household, so much so that my wife and daughters have taken mine.
The introduction of MindBase is smart. I essentially set up my Eufy security camera system to record videos locally (eliminating subscription fees). While not a NAS, integrating other products makes a NAS a logical extension. Having everything under a single brand eliminates confusion. Anker has a well-established brand, and the other sub-brands, while known, are a bit less so.
