There is always lots of tech news breaking every day. I grabbed some stories that I thought were interesting and added my thoughts.
Google released Nano Banana 2.1, an update to its image generation and editing model. It improves visual quality, text rendering, mask-based editing, and subject consistency, and it accepts up to 14 reference images. It is rolling out in the Gemini app, AI Mode, Google Flow, and AI Studio.
Read moreGoogle Play Services 26.39 adds NFC support for Find Hub trackers, so you can tap a tag with your phone to see its details or identify a lost one. Registration also improves, letting you name the tag, pick a category, and set Left-Behind Reminders during setup. Not every tag will have NFC: the upcoming Pixel Tag reportedly lacks it, while Xiaomi’s tag has NFC but currently works only with Apple’s Find My network.

The pattern is baked into word choices, so readers see nothing, but detection tools can spot it. OpenAI’s own testing shows it weakens fast with edits: swapping out 10 percent of the words dropped detection from 92 percent to 66 percent.

Apple has not said what caused it.
